Good example of what we do in open-source integration area is our flagship product Internet Control Server. This product offers complete solution of corporate Internet connection control:

1. complete traffic accouting - summarized, per each group and per each user
2. detailed user access control - based upon a variety of mechanisms: IP address, login-password pair, VPN, Active directory on Windows domain controller, stand-alone application.
3. integrated network security based upon packet filtering system used for both access control and security.
4. set of additional services, such as embedded web/ftp server, DNS, DHCP and other support mechanisms.

Internet Control Server is based upon FreeBSD operating system. IP packets are intercepted by the software we developed, which and submits aggregated packet flow information into MySQL database in real time. A specially developed daemon in near-real time parses the raw data and rewrites it according to the user information it receives from all authentication devices (IP address, squid proxy login/password, SAMBA, interacting with Active directory domain controller, VPN server) to measure each individual user traffic consumption. This daemon also processes squid proxy and mail server log files to extract precise and timely accounting of web and mail traffic. The whole system is completely managed by our web interface.
